Kaya (KY-yaah) is an adventurous Nez Perce girl growing up in 1764. She's happiest when she's riding her beloved horse Steps High, playing with her tiny pup Tatlo, or sharing stories with her blind sister as they work. Kaya dreams of becoming a courageous leader for her people who is ready to meet whatever the future brings. She draws strength from her family, the legends her elders tell, and the bold warrior woman who is her hero. "Kaya" is short for the Nez Perce name Kaya' aton' my which translates as "she who arranges rocks."
Kaya is the newest American Girl to be added to the collection. She is rightly termed the "first" American Girl, and she made her appearance in 2002.

I know, the mattel company only cares about the money. and there doll hospital prices are SO high. like i bought felicity, and when i got her, her legs where SUPER loose, it takes forever to make her stand up, and i heard it's $20 or so per leg to tighten it! |

Well actually...the doll hospital is really good about caring for the doll. We called asking if our doll got there and the manager noticed that our doll had been there before so they didn't charge us and fixed more than what we asked her to do. Then they shipped her via plane over night for us. It was really great!
